I feel that 14 and a half hour days are a bit too long. Are you sure you have to work from 5.30pm to 8am subsequent morning. Its legal if that is what you signed up for.
If you choice to keep your job, consequently yes.

And no, its not illegal - so long as it is part of your contract of emplyment.
That shift schedule is impossible to work.

If you work your 1600 (4:00pm) to 2000 (8:00pm) shift on Friday, you're already working when the next shift starts at 1730 (5:30pm).

Are you sure you get the days and times right?

My math says you're working roughly 14.5 hours each morning with a stray 4 hour shift that doesn't fit into this schedule. That process you're working over 70 hours each week. It's legal as long as they're paying you overtime.
UK? That's 15 hour shifts. Does it state contained by your contract that the shifts are 15 hours and do you get sleep time overnight?
You are classed as a night worker if you regularly work for at tiniest 3 hours of night time (defined as seven hours including the hours from midnight to 5am) during a working day.
If you are a dark worker, you should not have to work more than an average of eight hours in respectively 24 hour period. This is averaged out over a period of 17 weeks. This is call the reference period.
The decrease on hours for night workers do not apply to some groups of night workers. Source(s):…
