Grandmothers sanction?

If a Grand mother took her grandson to the dentist without the knowledge of the child's parents would she enjoy the right to give permission for a tooth to be taken out?
what are the lawful rights?
No. (UK)
Bit of a minefield these days, but the Dentist would have to enjoy the grandson registered at his practise and his parents would have to have file a responsibility form stating that certain people can consent.

There is a medical imperative, that can override a child's consent at the moment, but I don't think that this applies to dentistry... The two are seperate!
Depends on the situation , Emergency or not and why would some one have a problem beside this if they needed it done? It's not like grandma just did it for kick.
